Aero-Marine Joins Specialty Equipment Market Association
Southern California acrylic windshield manufacturer builds on powerboat industry success.
FONTANA, CALIF. (Aug. 7) — In an effort to expand its involvement within the automotive restoration and custom hot rod industry, Aero-Marine has joined the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) just weeks after settling into its new facility in Fontana, Calif.
Aero-Marine is no stranger to automotive aftermarket products. Having been a proud sponsor of West Coast Customs for several years, Aero-Marine has worked in conjunction with the popular car remodeling company on several custom builds for the SEMA Show and the hit television shows “Inside West Coast Customs” and “Street Customs.”
Consisting of a diverse group of manufacturers, distributors, retailers, publishing companies, auto restorers, car clubs, race teams and more, the nonprofit trade association produces the annual SEMA Show, which has brought together manufacturers and buyers within the automotive specialty parts and accessories industry since 1967.
“Becoming a SEMA member was an important step in the expansion of Aero-Marine outside of the powerboat business,” explained Carmen Bélanger-Martin, President of Aero-Marine. “Our boat-related production has been growing, and we’ve continuously been invited to work on challenging automotive and entertainment industry projects, therefore joining SEMA was essential.”
Bélanger-Martin, who was excited about seeing her acrylic car roof panels and helicopter windshields in the latest Columbia Pictures movie “Total Recall,” which was released on Friday (Aug. 3), announced she’s also participating in the SEMA Businesswomen’s Network (SBN).
“The SBN is important to women as it gives us the opportunity to infuse a different perspective into the automotive industry,” she said. “As women, we are innovative and have an ability to understand the importance of product integration, which is the key to successful builds.”

Aero-Marine Grows Into New Southern California Location.
The powerboat industry’s leading acrylic and polycarbonate windshield fabricator focuses on increasing production and research & development in new facility.
FONTANA, CALIF. (June 5) — As a leader in the powerboat windshield and canopy industry, Aero-Marine is working to strengthen that role by expanding into a larger, more powerful location that is better suited for manufacturing and thermoforming custom acrylic and polycarbonate components.
With 6,000 more square feet of space at a location just minutes from the famous California Speedway in Fontana, Calif., the new building (13052-B Dahlia St., Fontana, CA 92337; 909-350-3543) is ideal for Aero-Marine’s production needs.
“Not only will our production be able to handle the increased volume that is coming in from the boat builders we work with, such as Nordic Boats and Skater Powerboats, but because of the extra storage space we now have for production parts, we should be much more efficient,” said Carmen Bélanger-Martin, owner of Aero-Marine, which started manufacturing its own AM Crystal Clear windshield cleaner last year.
The new building also will provide the company with a larger sterile environment—or clean room, as Bélanger-Martin described it—for the fabrication process. Obviously when you’re out to create the best optics and clarity possible, dust and debris cannot be a factor. “The somewhat unbearable move is worth it because our efficiency will allow us to get back to product development,” said Bélanger-Martin, who spent most of May entrenched in the transition. “We will be spending more time on future boat windscreen designs and acrylic applications for everything from cars to motorcycles.”
Another reason for the upsize is that Aero-Marine has been expanding into the automotive and entertainment industry. In fact, the company produced a variety of acrylic and polycarbonate windshields for the new Columbia Pictures release “Total Recall” coming out on August 3. Aero-Marine also is a proud sponsor and partner of West Coast Customs, and works directly with West Coast Customs and its producers on several custom builds for the hit television shows “Inside West Coast Customs” and “Street Customs.” For further information and/or interview opportunities, contact Carmen Bélanger-Martin at 909-350-3543 or info@aeromarineone.com.
